THE HOTELS IN ROME WITH INDOOR SWIMMING POOL

Have you ever wondered if Rome can accommodate requests of customers looking for special services like indoor heated swimming pools? Of course: hotels of Rome have more than this. If you and your family have the chance to reserve an hotel in Rome downtown, you will spend unbelievable moments visiting what I consider the eighth wonder of Rome: the roman pantheon.

This monument of ancient Rome is an architectural marvel equal to the Pyramids of Egypt or to the Gothic cathderal of northern Europe. And one you are inside the most preserved monument of ancient Rome you will experience the roman perfection and the most stupendous spaces ever conceived and executed by human mind and hand.

After walking through the porch, the visitor encounters an immense set of bronze doors, which are original but somewhat restored and framed in white marble. If you are able to stop at the center of the pantheon you will remain speechless for its vastness and its niches that onve guested the statues of the pagan gods and today host the shrines of saints since the year ( 609 AD ) the Pantheon has been converted into a church.

Once you had your nap after your arrival at Rome airports you can focus your curiosity on the splendid bronzed decoration like the inscription on the pediment that says in latin M.AGRIPPA.L.F.COS.TERTIUM.FECIT meaning that Agrippa, son in law of Augustus, the son of Lucius, built the Pantheon when he was consul for the third time. The reference to the present building is wrong because the inscription refers to a previous building that stood on the same site.

Of course you don't have to tour too hard, a swimming pool can be the best form of relaxation after a big day sightseeing in Rome.

What kind of peculiar person would have deliberately misleading the inscription placed upon an important public monument? The emperor Hadrian ( 117- 138 AD ), one of the most complicated and contradictory rulers of Rome, commissioned the pantheon. This spanish emperor born in Sevilla was very acculturated and in love with classical greek culture. He was a poet and an architect as well as a good administrator. A restless and difficult person who spent much of his reign traveling, he had a great passion for architecture, and ruins of the buildings he commissioned are scattered throughout the lands of the roman empire.

The intermediate block, the cylindrical rotunda, and the dome of the pantheon are made almost entirely of concrete, a materials the Romans invented and perfected, and without which it would be hard to imagine the subsequent history of the western architecture. The romans rarely left their monumental buildings with the brickwork showing: in ancient times the exterior of the rotunda may have been covered with stucco, or faced with marble or travertine.

That's why booking a 5 etoiles hotel in Rome near the Pantheon can transform your trip to Rome in an incredible and rich sightseeing experience.

Some of the hotels in Rome city center have the indoor swimming pool with sauna steam bath like the ones located in the famous districts of Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps. And even if it's raining, once you are in Rome, do not spend your day indoor but discover the treasures of the eternal city walking through the main sights like via del Corso or the Roman Forum.

After a busy day of meetings or visiting the numerous nearby attractions, you can unwind with a well-earned workout or take a relaxing dip in the pools of Rome accommodations.
