If you have followed my suggestion and booked your hotel in Rome near Trevi Fountain or the Spanish Steps, you can have a good chance to optimize your time sightseeing in four hours several monuments of the baroque and the ancient Rome.
Rome is not a big city and from the city center you can walk through the main monuments discovering also that the walking distance between Trevi fountain and the Spanish Steps is only five minutes.

After having experimented on my own that Rome is becoming more and more a city for walkers because there are many traffic restrictions in the city center, you can have a chance discovering the marvellous piazzas, the fountains of Rome with their sparkling water and the ancient Rome with the walking tips of a guide of Rome who is expert of the narrow streets and in the same time will allow you to discover something very unusual like the roman aqueduct that feeds still today since the first century AD the spanish steps and the Trevi Fountain.
